AACOMAS Course Subjects

AACOMAS uses a standardized list of course subjects which cover the majority of classes you may be taking. AACOMAS uses these subjects to then determine which Course Subject GPA Category your courses will factor into. If you cannot determine which AACOMAS Subject to choose based on your course’s title, please default to the department the course is offered through. During the verification process, AACOMAS will change any AACOMAS Subjects which it deems have been incorrectly listed. Your application will not be undelivered for listing the incorrect AACOMAS Subject.

IMPORTANT:  AACOMAS verifies course subjects using the course title and then departmental prefix listed on your official transcript.  AACOMAS will not accept course descriptions to verify course subjects.

The list below has been created in conjunction with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, which has determined which AACOMAS Subjects factor into which Course Subject GPAs. Please use this list to understand how your AACOMAS Course Subjects will factor into your Course Subject GPAs.
